CASLIS Ottawa - CLA Conference Grant

The Grant :

The Canadian Association of Special Libraries and Information Services (CASLIS) Ottawa Chapter invites applications for sponsorship to the CLA/BCLA 2004 Conference. The winner will be awarded $250.00. The CLA/BCLA 2004 Conference will be held in Victoria, British Columbia, June 16-19, 2004. The theme of the conference is Celebrating Our Community: Sharing Our Values, Sharing Our values. Criteria:

• Applicants must be graduates from an accredited library school program or Library and Information Technician program
• Applicants must be CASLIS Ottawa members
• Applicants must not be receiving funding from any other CLA source
• Previous winners are not eligible, and preference will be given to first-time attendees

How to apply:

Please submit a letter of approximately 250 words explaining why you want to attend the CLA/BCLA 2004 Conference. Applicants must complete the CLA/BCLA Conference Grant Application Form (see site below).

After the CLA Conference, the successful candidate is required to submit a short report giving his/her overall impressions of the conference. This report will be published in the CASLIS Ottawa Newsletter and may also appear in Feliciter and CASLIS Special Issues.

Deadline for applications is April 15, 2004. To submit your application please go to the CLA Conference Grant Application Form.

The winner will be announced at the CASLIS AGM in May 2004 and notified by April 30, 2004.
